Tsunami Warning Systems

The goal of this site is to support NOAA in its efforts to help worldwide tsunami warning system enterprises design new or maintain and enhance existing sytems. The resources offered here will aid in strengthening partnerships and developing the necessary knowledge and skills to improve warning enterprises.

Resources

The Tsunami Warning Center Reference Guide describes a concept of operations for any National Tsunami Warning Center or Regional Tsunami Watch Provider and provides ourtreach and education resources for these centers. Summaries and supporting materials enhance the utility of the guide for its varied audiences.

The Coastal Community Resilience Guide builds on lessons learned and experience gained from past tsunami events to address coastal hazards and offer advice on reducing risk to vulnearable communities.

Cases

Cases will demonstrate how existing tsunami warning systems work to respond during a warning event and how communities work to prepare for and mitigate the risks associated with tsunami events.
