Mesoscale Aspects of Winter Weather Forecasting banner divider

The Mesoscale Aspects of Winter Weather Forecasting project addresses severe winter weather events in latitudes north of 40ºN.

The Case Exercises are centered around a real winter event. Each case exercise includes a series of forecast questions, accompanied by a rich set of data. Depending on the progression of the event, the data may include model runs, satellite imagery, radar data, observations, and analysis.

Throughout a Case Exercise, there is access to supporting Topics relevant to the science and forecasting nuances of the event. These Topics are also available as stand alone reference pieces.
